About Minds Matter Boston
Minds Matter Boston is committed to making college education a reality for accomplished high school students from low-income families since we first opened our doors in 2003.
Students are paired with two mentors and spend time during weekly mentoring sessions working on summer and college applications, standardized test preparation, community service efforts, writing and speaking skills, and other life skills that benefit the student academically and personally. This year, 136 volunteers from the Boston area will team up with 68 students from over 12 area schools!
Minds Matter of Boston is a chapter of the national Minds Matter organization. Since its founding in New York City in 1991, Minds Matter has achieved a 100% college acceptance rate throughout all chapters. In the 2013-2014 program year, the Boston chapter alone sent students to prestigious colleges and universities around the country, including West Point, Northeastern University, Wesleyan College, Boston University, and the College of the Holy Cross to name a few!
